A share certificate from the small Alva Railway company held in the www.the7820library.org.uk
collection.
The Railway opened in 1863 was absorbed by the Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway in 1864 and closed to passengers in 1954.
A short stretch from the Junction at Cambus near Alloa to Glenochil Yeast factory is mothballed.

Historic Printed Railway Documents

Welcome to the Blog for details on a collection of historical printed railway documents.
The collection is thought to be the largest collection of printed documents from pre grouping UK railway companys outside the National Collection at the National Railway Museum.

The objective of the collection is to put together the largest number of printed documents from each pre grouping(1923) independant railway company. Some samples are show and complete list is available from The Railway Office PTU NR1 2SG
